Welcome to my interpretation for this round of Style Imitating Art.
A Little Background
Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey, Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art-inspired outfits. The following Wednesday, the curator shares all the submissions on her blog.

Sunspots by Cuno Amiet
My Take
I decided to come up with something and wear it to a Missouri Retired Teachers Association meeting. I went with the two main colors: green and white. My green is slightly more subdued because I just don’t have too many bright green items in my closet. I then substituted the yellow in the painting with gold accessories. The blue was left out.

This was a good time to use white pants as a transition item. Although I’ve already put most of my whites away, I decided to keep a couple of pants out just in case I decided to wear them. These straight-legged American Eagle was one of the two pairs.
To pair with it, I picked one of my Covered Perfectly tops. This top is made in the USA using a micro-Model fabric which makes it very soft. Before she sold the company last year, Pauline Durbin very kindly sent me occasionally a top to review. I always loved her top and bought quite a few on sale when I thought she was closing down shop. Fortunately, someone decided to buy the shop and Covered Perfectly lives on. You can even find my top HERE (which also happens to be on sale).
Because of the “sun”, everything else is gold, including my Spring Step shoes. Although Spring Step has wonderful shoes, these are pretty old and no longer available. My burnished gold Coach tote is just a really good everyday bag that gets pulled out when I need a metallic neutral.

My pendant and cuff have been on here time and time again. They are by Kansas City designer Georgina Herrera. My ring is by Brighton but is no longer available.
I actually wore this outfit to two different things and enjoyed pulling out some things that I have never worn together. This was the perfect transition look for me. It took me from a cool morning to a warmer afternoon and back to a cool evening.
That wraps it up for me so now it’s your turn.

Take care and style on!

Terri, this is a great transitional outfit! I really like the olive green and white combination. Your necklace and cuff are definitely statement pieces that catch the eye in the most wonderful way! I have a Covered Perfectly lounge set in this same olive green color. The top is similar to yours but with a v neck. I never even thought to wear it separate from the lounge pants, but now I will have to try it! Her fabrics really are super soft and comfortable!

Thank you. Covered Perfectly is good stuff-not cutting edge design but reliable and easy to wear. I have never noticed that they has lounge wear and I need to look up the new owners name. Those two pieces of gold jewelry are probably my most two worn pieces. I have some Brighton that close to catching up but these are still in the lead.

Lovely outfit, and I really like how the gold jewelry brings the “sun” into the look. Perfect for the season transition!

Thank you, I can’t wait to see what you came up with. So glad to have you back in the mix. My problem is although I have greens, they are mostly subdued or dark.

Thank you, We just had three days of blazing heat, but supposly tomorrow, things are going to cool off. And we are hoping for some much needed rain tonight. Fingers crossed!
I’ve decided that I’m going to embrace white this Fall-going to give those blue jeans some rest.
