“The Hallucinogenic Toreador” by Salvadore Dali for Style Imitating Art

Hello and welcome to a new round of Style Imitating Art.

Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey, Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art-inspired outfits. The following Wednesday, the curator shares all of the submissions on her blog.

This round is created by Shelbee.

Shelbee has picked fiber works by Surrealist artist Salvatore Dali. This was during 1969-70. It alluded to Dali’s wife’s dislike of bullfighting. It is full of Dali’s technically proficient painting and his unique symbolism. An article discussing this painting can be found here.

Have Some Fun & Join Us

Go take a look in your closet and see what you have. Put something together and send it to Shelbee at shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com by a week from tomorrow, June 14th.

I think that’s it for now,

Happy Styling
