Conjunction by Romare Bearden for Style Imitating Art

Hello and welcome to a new round of Style Imitating Art.

Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey, Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspirational image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art-inspired outfits. The next Wednesday, the curator shares all of the submissions on her blog.

This Week’s Curator

Shelbee is the curator for this round. On a vacation trip to Ashville, North Carolina, she discovered a show at the Ashville Museum

of Art featuring Romare Bearden. She was so taken by his work that she came home and researched him a bit. In the end, she chose a 1979 lithograph of his entitled “Conjunction”.

He used very strong colors in this lithograph print. I hope it inspires you to come up with an idea and when you do please send it by next Tuesday to Shelbee.

Take care,

Terri
