The Countess de la Maitrie by Charles-Albert Walhain for Style Imitating Art

Welcome to a new Style Imitating Art challenge!

If you are new to Style Imitating Art, here’s what it’s all about.

Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey, Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspirational image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art-inspired outfits. The following Wednesday, the curator shares all of the submissions on her blog.

This Week’s Curator

Countess de la Maitrie in equestrian dress .*oil on canvas .*210 x 125.5 cm .*signed b.r.: Ch Walhain 1910

Salazar has picked a portrait of the Countess de la Maitrie by Charles-Albert Walhain. It’s a very elegant presentation with the Countess in her riding habit and gives off a very cool violet/grey vibe. That is with the exception of the Doxie.

Have Some Fun & Join Us

Go take a look in your closet and see what you have. Put something together and send it to Salazar at 14shadesofgreyblog@gmail.com by Tuesday, February 14th.
