Welcome to a new Style Imitating Art challenge!
If you are new to Style Imitating Art, here’s what it’s all about.
Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey, Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art-inspired outfits. The next Wednesday, the curator shares all of the submissions on her blog.
This Weeks Curator
Salazar picked this round’s work.
Juan Gris, whose real name was José Victoriano González-Pérez was a was a Spanish painter born in Madrid, Spain who lived and worked in France for most of his active period (he passed away at the age of 40). He is closely connected to Cubism. Painting in both Annalytical and synthetic styles, his works are among the movement’s most distinctive.
Have Some Fun & Join Us
Go take a look in your closet and see what you have. Put something together and send it to Salazar at 14shadesofgreyblog@gmail.com by Tuesday, September 20th.
Anyone can participate and you certainly do not have to have a blog.
If you do share your inspirations on Instagram use the hashtag #StyleImitatingArt so we know you are there. You can also tag us in the images. Our Instagram names are @terrigardner_meadowtree, @14shadesofgrey, and @shelbeeontheedge.
I think that’s it for now.

Oh, I love all the textures and colors in this. But, I think I’m going to have to work hard to come up with something!!! Thanks for the challenge!

I have a kimono that I think I will use for this one. It’s a mixture of different patterns so I think it will work.
