Welcome to a new Style Imitating Art challenge!
If you are new to Style Imitating Art, here’s what it’s all about.
Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey, Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art-inspired outfits. The next Wednesday, the curator shares all of the submissions on her blog.
This Weeks Curator
Salazar picked this round’s work.
Cuno Amiet was a Swiss painter, illustrator, graphic artist, and sculptor. As the first Swiss painter to give precedence to color in composition, he was a pioneer of modern art in Switzerland.
Sunspots was painted in 1904 and is (IMO) of the Fauvism style. This looks like a good time to work some of your transition whites in, or at least I am pretty sure that’s what I’m doing.
Have Some Fun & Join Us
Go take a look in your closet and see what you have. Put something together and send it to Salazar at firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday, September 20th.
Anyone can participate and you certainly do not have to have a blog.
If you do share your inspirations on Instagram use the hashtag #StyleImitatingArt so we know you are there. You can also tag us in the images. Our Instagram names are @terrigardner_meadowtree, @14shadesofgrey, and @shelbeeontheedge.
I think that’s it for now.
