Underground Posters for Style Imitating Art

Hello and welcome to a new round of Style Imitating Art!

About Style Imitating Art

Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey, Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art-inspired outfits. The following Wednesday, the curator shares all of the submissions on her blog.

This Weeks Curator

Salazar picked this round’s work.

This Week’s Inspirational Image

Salazar decided that since we’ve had some classic paintings lately, she would pick something a little different – two posters for the London Underground. These were designed in 1924 by Austin Cooper. They were issued in the summer and winter to promote the comfort of traveling by Tube when the weather was hot or cold.

Have Some Fun & Join Us

These posters have some pretty wonderful color contrasts.

Go take a look in your closet and see what you have. Put something together and send it to Salazar at 14shadesofgreyblog@gmail.com by Tuesday, April 5th.

I think that’s it for now,

Happy Styling
